Center part low bun:
- Part the front of the hair in the center
- Pull it into a low ponytail, leaving a little room below
- Twist the hair and then start wrapping it around the ponytail holder. Secure it with bobby pins as you go, making sure to grab a bit of both the bun coil and the head hair in each pin when you slide it in toward the center of the bun. Here, I put one pin in near the bottom and then a second up on the side and crossed the first as I slid in the second so they formed an x under the bun making them extra secure (and did likewise, crossing the 3rd and 4th)
- Secure wild hairs with a fine hair net that is close to the dancer's hair color. I put this one over the bun, then twisted the extra and folded it over the bun again two or three times.
- Smooth down whispy hairs with hair spray or gel.
- If your dancer has bangs, smooth them to the side and secure with a bobby pin and strong gel or pomade, so that the stage lights won't cast shaddows on her face.
This dancer models a center part low bun with light stage makeup and pink lipstick. She is wearing dark brown eye liner on the upper lash line, brown mascara on upper lashes (some transferred naturally onto the lower lashes), neutral brown eye shaddow (optional), pink blush, and rose pink lipstick (use a lipstick that won't smudge like this Revlon Colorstay Ultimate, we used 030 Miracle Mauve to get a pink shade that was similar to her natural lip color but just a shade or two darker). This will allow her facial features to show up on stage even under the bright stage lights.
