BALLET

Creative Dance, Creative Ballet

This class is for our young dancers ages 3-5. They will learn basic ballet steps and movement across the floor. Props and a fast pace make this a great option for keeping young and active kids engaged.

Dress Code: Pink or Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun. White shirt, black stretchy pants, and black ballet slippers for boys.

Pre-Ballet

This class is for our young dancers ages 3.5-5. They will learn basic ballet steps and movement across the floor. Props and a fast pace make this a great option for keeping young and active kids engaged.

Dancers will learn proper ballet vocabulary, positions, and movement while still having the opportunity for creative expression in a nurturing environment.

Ballet II/III is for dancers ages 8-10 that have had at least one year of prior dance experience. Dancers will start to build upon basic ballet technique and increase exposure to combinations of steps and focus on proper body placement and awareness while executing dance movement.

Ballet IIIA

Ballet IIIA is for dancers ages 9 & up that have had at least two years of prior dance experience but only have room in their schedule to dance one day per week. Dancers will start to build upon basic ballet technique and increase exposure to combinations of steps and focus on proper body placement and awareness while executing dance movement.

Dress Code: Pink or Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Ballet IIIB

Ballet IIIB is for dancers ages 9 & up that have had at least two years of prior dance experience who can commit to dancing two days per week. Dancers will start to build upon basic ballet technique and increase exposure to combinations of steps and focus on proper body placement and awareness while executing dance movement. Attending Ballet twice per week will allow them to grow and develop their technique at a faster rate.

Dress Code: Pink or Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Ballet IV

 As dancers progress in their body awareness and dance technique, attending class on multiple days of the week becomes important. This level will start to work on strengthening feet and bodies for pre-pointe and future pointe work.

Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Demi Pointe/Pointe

Dancers at this level are wearing either demi pointe shoes or are in the early training of pointe work. This class meets twice a week to focus on continuing correct body placement, technique, strength, and flexibility. Dancers are also encouraged to attend the Thursday Pre-pointe Technique class.

Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Pre- Pointe and Pointe Technique

This class is for dancers in levels Ballet IV, V, VI, & Pointe to focus on technique. Dancers should take this class in addition to their other weekly classes.

Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Pointe

This class is for dancers who have at least one year of prior Pointe experience. This class meets twice a week to focus on continuing correct body placement, technique, strength, and flexibility. Dancers are required to also take the Thursday Pointe Technique class.

Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers. Simple chiffon skirts optional. Hair pulled back in bun.

Teen/Adult Ballet

This class is a welcoming place for teens and adults looking to either try ballet or to focus upon basic ballet technique.

Dress Code: Leotard and tights or leggings, pink leather or canvas ballet slippers. Hair should be secured away from the face ideally in a bun.

COMBO/TAP

Combo I, Combo I/II, and Ballet/Tap/Jazz

This class combines the basics of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. It is a great class for ages 4-6, 5-7, or 7-9  to get to experience multiple styles of dance.

Dress Code: Light blue or black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers, black tap shoes, & *jazz shoes (*recommended, but not required). Simple chiffon skirts are optional. Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun.

Tap 8-12 years

This level is for dancers ages 8-12 (preferably with previous dance experience) to build upon tap basics and working towards more complicated steps and combinations. Dancers are encouraged to also take a Ballet or Jazz class to help with their overall dance technique.

Dress Code: Light blue or black leotard, pink tights, and black tap shoes. Simple chiffon skirts or black dance shorts are optional. Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun.

Advanced Tap

This level is for dancers 10 & up with several years previous tap dance experience to work towards more complicated steps and combinations. Dancers are highly encouraged to also take Ballet or Jazz class to help with their overall dance technique.

Dress Code: Light blue or black leotard, pink tights, and black tap shoes. Simple chiffon skirts or black dance shorts are optional. Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun.

Teen/Adult Tap

Tap is such a fun style and now we have a level for ages 12+. The class will work at the pace of the dancers enrolled to establish great rhythm and quick feet.

Dress Code: Tank top or t-shirt, jazz pants or leggings. Black tap shoes, hair secured in ponytail.

JAZZ

Jazz I/II

For ages 8+ that are looking for an active dance class. Dancers will participate in a warm-up, across the floor combinations, and learning choreography focusing on flexibility, turns, and jumps with a fun style.

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, jazz pants or leggings. Black jazz shoes, hair secured in ponytail.

Jazz II/III

For intermediate and advanced dancers looking for an active jazz class to increase their technique in turns, jumps, and flexibility.

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, jazz pants or leggings. Black jazz shoes, hair secured in ponytail.

Company ​Jazz I and II

We now have two levels of our jazz company! Dancers need to be placed through audition for these levels.  This jazz level is for dancers with a strong jazz and dance foundation that are continuing to work on more advanced movement and choreography.  There will be at least one extra dance performance opportunity throughout the season. Dancers need to have a dedicated approach to their dance journey and be able to commit to the entire dance season.

MODERN

Modern I/II

This class is designed to expose dancers ages 8+ to the basics of modern dance. They will focus on using the whole body and incorporating a fusion of ballet, jazz, and lyrical styles. Classes include warm-up, across the floor exercises, and learning choreography.

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Barefoot or footundeez, hair secured in ponytail.

Modern II/III

This class is for dancers with previous dance experience. They will focus on using the whole body and incorporating a fusion of ballet, jazz, and lyrical styles. Classes include warm-up, across the floor exercises, and learning choreography.

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Barefoot or footundeez, hair secured in ponytail.

Advanced Modern

Prior dance experience is required for this level. Full body awareness, floor work, partnering, improvisation, and choreography make up the core of this class.

Contemporary 10+

This class is for intermediate and advanced dancers focusing on using the whole body and incorporating a fusion of ballet, jazz, and lyrical styles. Classes include warm-up, across the floor exercises, and learning choreography.

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Barefoot or footundeez, hair secured in ponytail.

HIP HOP

Kids Move

This class is for dancers who are ages 5-7. As an intro to Hip-Hop-style dancing this class is fun and active, focusing on body coordination and control to upbeat music.

Dress Code: Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Clean indoor only sneakers, hair secured in ponytail.

Hip Hop 7-10

This level of Hip-Hop is for dancers who are ages 7-10. Hip-Hop is a fun and active class focusing on body coordination and control to upbeat music.

Dress Code: Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Clean indoor only sneakers, hair secured in ponytail.

Hip Hop 10+

This level of Hip-Hop is for dancers who are ages 10+. Prior dance experience is helpful but not necessary. Hip-Hop is a fun and active class focusing on body coordination and control to upbeat music.

Dress Code: Tank top or t-shirt, yoga pants or leggings. Clean indoor only sneakers, hair secured in ponytail.

Hip-Hop Crew

Dancers need to be placed through audition for this level. Dancers in the crew are required to take the contemporary class in addition to the crew class.  This team will be a tight knit group of dancers that are willing to work hard in improving their technique and performing ability. There will be at least 1 extra dance performance opportunity throughout the season.  Class will focus on hip-hop technique, tricks, group work, and mastering choreography.

OTHER

Acro

This exciting new class allows dancers ages 9+ to combine elements of dance and gymnastics to increase flexibility and work on tricks.

Dress Code: Leotard or fitted top, leggings, and bare feet. Hair secured back in ponytail.

Musical Theater I & II

This  class will combine all elements of Musical Theater, including singing, dancing, and acting.  Students will get the opportunity to expand upon basic technique and have a fun creative outlet. 

Dress Code: Leotard, Tank top or t-shirt, jazz pants or leggings. Black jazz shoes, hair secured in ponytail.

Salsa

Salsa is a popular form of social dance style originating from Cuban folk dances. The

movements of Salsa are a combination of Afro-Cuban dance, Son, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo and other dance forms. Salsa Level I class familiarizes you to the rhythm and timing of the music, leading and following technique as well as safety and dance floor etiquette. You will learn basic Salsa footwork, back-breaks, side steps, dance positions, and connections between partners.  We will introduce single right hand turn for both leads and follows, cross body leads, and left hand turns. We will end the series with pattern combinations using all of the moves learned. No dance experience is required. No partner necessary! 

Bachata

Bachata is a dance style, slower than Salsa, and accentuated by hips movement. It is originated in Dominican Republic and It has become one of the most popular Latin dances in recent years.  Bachata Level I class familiarizes students to the rhythm and timing of the music and provides a foundation of movement for students who have had little or no experience. Introduces techniques in leading and following as well as safety and dance floor etiquette. You will learn the basic Bachata footwork and variations, timing, and connections between partners. This class will give you all the tools you need to connect and dance Bachata at the social level.
